Leaving Tweeters in??

I am starting the upgrade of my completely stock 07 dodge ram 1500 quad cab. I bought 3-ways for the front and 2ways for the back.

Heres where I get stuck. Currently the front speakers are component speakers.

Can I just take out the main speaker in the door and forget about the tweeters up top?

If not, how do I go about disconnecting them? Will there be a crossover for the stock speakers I have to find somewhere?

Thanks for your help.

the tweeters in the door are connected to the tweeters up top

your best bet is to just get a component set for up front, recommended anyways.. they just sound better than coax. speakers.. then go with 2 ways in the back, or another comp set.. and amp them it'll sound good, and you can just replace the stock tweeter with the tweeter on the component set

or if you get coax. speakers upfront.. just remove the tweeter up top and install the speakers.. or you could also install seperate tweeters but would be a dumb idea when you can just get a comp. set in the first place -_-

edit:

and the crossover you currently have should be in parallel to both the top tweeter and the speaker in the bottom along the positive, between the speaker and tweeter somewhere, might be the size of an AAA battery

You need to take out the crossovers or you can send to much power to them and possibly blow them. The crossovers in an 07 ram 1500 are in an odd place, but it's not really too hard to get to. Remove your glove box, then remove the shield up above the glove box. You should see some yellow wires that you need to cut. Those are wires from both tweets to the crossover. Once you cut those, you'll be all good. The crossover is hidden and almost impossible to get to so it's easier to just cut those wires.

Also, you won't blow your tweeters. You'll thank me later.
