Same here, even though I still consider myself a noob to the car audio when it comes to installs. I may not be able to tune perfectly, but having someone that doesn't know what I do know, tell me how to do it is not cool.

i dont install professionally but i can say after doing a few things for friends its always the same hurry hurry not do a good job so it works forever. but my least favorite thing to do is insulate a house

I installed xm radio in my cousins truck, and i've seen the guy run power wire under his hood over the wipers, through the front door (by the mirrors) then down the door sill (over the sill, not under it), to an amp that's grounded by a wire wrapped around a seat bolt (with no terminal ring) and the whole time im running wire under dash pieces, removing panels, etc etc he keeps asking "you gonna make it look professional right?", "make it look good, k?" "If it don't look good, I don't want it in my truck", I wanted to slap him lol

Ah you know like the power, ground remote.........through the firewall or however you have to run them. Some of it can be a major pain in da ***!

See thats the easy part for me. I dont usually have problems with that. I always thought that was the easiest part. I just dont like doing head units. In fact the last one that was put in my car I had a shop put it in, he is a friend but still. Plus I was in a rush.

HU's in your generation Lac are pretty easy, doing DD screens is another story, but definitely not more than a one day job. judging by my posts in this thread...i may just hate doing double dins period.
