What is the least expensive, but also best working sound dampening material.

I have Second Skin v.2 on my doors and floorboards and it works very very well.

I need about 35-40 Sq feet to do the underside of my hood, my license plate, hatch door, and cargo floor and walls.

I don't want to spend more than about 35 or 40 dollars.

Any recommendations and where can I get it?

I need to buy this tonight.

Also, just out of curiosity, I saw a post on here about someone tinting their own windows. Where can you get decent window tint and how easy is it to tint your windows yourself? Do you actually have to take the window out of the door?

Thanks!

My buddy did his truck windows. Just used the stuff they sell at Walmart....probably not the highest quality on the market, but it does the job and looks pretty good.

It was very easy.....just peel off the backing, get the tint super wet with the solution, stick it on the window then run a razor blade along the window sill to cut away the excess. And no, the windows don't need to be removed to do it that way.

the solution never works for me...i use dawn dish soap and water. you skipped a couple steps...but i'm sure he can figure out to squeege it:)

Tinting windows isn't as easy as it looks....I suppose you can do it yourself...but I'll guarantee you that you'd be much happier with a professional tint job.

it's pretty easy if you have the patience for it. But yea, if i had the money i'd pay someone to do it anyday considering it took me ~3-4 hours to tint all the back windows. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

Anyways, i just ordered raamat from ebay for 99 bucks, for 62.5 sq feet which is more expensive than the 1$/feet but there seems to be good results with it.

My suggestion would be for the peel and seal since u wanted cheap sound proofing.

i removed my side windows(needed for a proper tint job on my truck) and tried to tint them with a friends left-over tint. unfortunately i didn't scrap the window with a razor blade prior to applying a layer causing some small bubbles in a few places. i didn't have enough tint to do it over and do the other window so i took them into a tint shop where they tinted them for $20 cash. moral of the story: clean your window thoroughly with a razor blade and tint shops are always an option.
