LCD TV question?

they each have their benefits
plasmas are known to have better black level performance and better viewing angles, but use more power

you're going from 720p to 1080p, you will see a difference on HD movies, not on HDTV

that's too general. you'll only notice a difference depending on your seating distance. with 42 inches, you'll need to be sitting pretty **** close to notice a difference.

it is general because just as people hear different, they also see different. i can see a difference between 720p and 1080p on my 24" lcd sitting 3-4 feet away(adjust the distance for larger sizes), but my GF cant because she isnt as critical of a viewer

i can also notice the difference between a 128kbps mp3 and a 320kbps mp3 while my GF cant

however the power consumption and contrast/black level is not general, a 42-46" plasma uses more power than a 65" lcd and it has been proven over and over that plasmas have better contrast/black levels

sounds to me you are just restating what you have heard over and over with no real world knowledge to back it up

yes the dynamic contrast ratio on the plasma is 1million to 1 where as the lcd is only 30000: 1. I am using a blu ray and I know I will only see a difference when playing blu ray. I have direct tv hd which can only broadcast 1080i so regular tv will stay basically the same or might have been better on the plasma.

I'm going with a samsung myself, except a higher model the a750 picture looks amazing and i think lcd>plasma myself. whether or not it's better with current generations tv's i'd rather not worry about burn-in being possibly.

burn-in isn't even a possibility anymore. and the only advantage of lcd over plasma is it's brightness and power consumption.

BTW, i've had my plasma for about 2 months. i finally got directtv to come out and install HD...... wow, is all i can say. wow. i'm watching the history channel and i'm just staring at the screen. beautiful.

sounds to me like you either have superhuman eyes or are suffering from the effects of placebo....which is fine.

also sounds to me like you're making blind assumptions. i work in the industry so i have plenty of real world knowledge that just so happens to be consistent with research results...who'd a thunk?

Get The A650 or A850 the 750 is a joke your paying for a Sub in a TV..

The LN-52A850 is **** close to as good of a picture as the Pioneer Elite Pro-111FD, I know I have them sitting right next to eachother..

The A650 Is Sick the A850 is The best for the price..

The Pioneer Elite Kuro Sets Are the Best but you drop some coin for it too..

The Samsung LN-?? A850 is the way togo

To the theard starter

the A550 is nice but you may see some sandy grain to it..

It should be ok if you sit in the right area,
