LCD TV question?

I just purchased this tv from amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0014175E8

to replace a 42 plasma 720p I have in my living room now. Will I notice much of a difference or should I cancel the order before it ships so my cc is not charged?

the lcd sould last longer,my wife has n lcd in the bedroom and the picture quality is excellent.if it was me,i would have an lcd over a plasma any day

I have been reading though that refresh rate on plasma is better maybe I should have got a 1080p plasma. Another reason I am switching is that I am in the military, and the moving service for the navy will no longer ship plasma tvs because of to many being turned on their side.

X2 its much faster but the new lcds that are 120 hrz are almost right there with the speed of a plasma.

best buy has a samsung 50 inch plasma 1080p for about 1300, but the thing weighs well over 100 lbs.

if its the panasonic plasma you are thinking about get it. there is no comparison. period. get the panasonic. there is no question. did i stress get the panasonic yet?? ok...

You sure about that? I just bought a 50" Samsung 720p plasma and it wasn't too heavy. Maybe 60-70 lbs. The guy who loaded it in the truck bed did it by himself, it was quite impressive considering the dimensions of the box are probably 60"x50"x12".

Oh, and, IMO

plasma>lcd>dlp any day of the week.

where do you get your information from? filled? so plasma screen could have the gas recharged? LCD could have a liquid refill?

plasma screens use an extremely small amount of xenon and neon gas, on a 50" it may have enough gas to fill a thimble. LCDs have no liquid at all.

most of the new plasma screen have a 480hz refresh rate which is 4x's faster than the higher end LCDs 120hz refresh rate.

they each have their benefits

plasmas are known to have better black level performance and better viewing angles, but use more power

you're going from 720p to 1080p, you will see a difference on HD movies, not on HDTV
