Layering Damplifier OVER 1-2 layers of FATMAT...

okay, so I am new around here (obviously) and I learned of my cardinal sin only to late as I already installed the evil crappy FATMAT on my car. I was wondering if people think that it would be a good or bad idea to layer some damplifier or RAAMAT on top of the FATMAT I already used in my doors and maybe the rear? I have never worked with other deadeners before but I would honestly say I didnt have any problems with the FATMAT yet and it made substantial improvements. My main concern is that I live in El Paso TX and it gets hot as hell down here. IF the FATMAT does fail and fall off I guess that any layers of SSkin or RAAMAT would just fall off with it as they were layered? Any thoughts on this? I did prep pretty well with alcohol and it seems pretty solid so far.... but its only been up to about 90 degrees...

thanks in advance for all your input and helping my dumbass out.

id let it ride.

if it starts to come off, then pull it off and redo with better quality product.

ive still got some peel and seel on my car from 4 years ago, and it is a real pain to remove.

my opinion heat it up and remove it, the adhesive is not that great on fatmat and should come off. damplifier is the way to go if you can get damp pro and use 1-2 layers, some overkill and you are set. seal off all the holes in your door with abs plastic

wait for a hot day to let the heat get the fatmat and peel it off. it will get messy then you can layer over it with Damplifier.

or

grab a liquid deadener and go over the fatmat with it, it should "freeze" the fatmat and wont overheat and fall off.

okay well I am positive that that would be the ideal way to do things but there is NO WAY that I am going to peel off my past 4 days worth of work and 80 bucks just to redo it all over again, EVEN if it is the optimum way to do it. I am trying to figure out if people think that installing an additional layer of Damp Pro or RAAMAT would be beneficial enough to justify it, especially considering that if I layered it and the FATMAT did fail the Damplifier would subsequently fail since it was layered on top? MAybe I will get a heat gun and heat up the door to see if i can make it fail lol. Thanks for the responses, lets keep them coming.

you know thats a pretty simple idea that almost seems crazy enough to work.... thanks, might have to give that one a try.

And as far as all of this "peel it off and start over" stuff, we dont actually know if its going to fail or not, maybe I will be a lucky one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Shouldnt I wait and see first? Its not like having additional layers of deadening would hurt even if it wasnt the ideal product right?
