We are looking to buy a new lawnmower and I was wondering what everyone thought.

What to buy and what to stay away from?

What you have, and how long you have had it?

We bought a Craftsman 18.5hp 42" cut 2 summers ago, and it has crapped out on us.

Stay away from crafstamn I would go with honda snapper or lawn boy.

i just called one of those business cards that appear in my door every f'ing day and my lawn is mowed, edged, trimmed, bagged and the sidewalks blown clean in 20 min.

ya, we did that last year, but the raised there rates by 8 dollars this year so now i get off my lazy *** and do it once a week:crap:

We had a MTD that lasted for 13 years, then the motor locked up... Then we bought another MTD, lasted 1 summer then the thing fell apart. Then the craftsman, which was another POS.

i still have the equipment...i guess I'm waiting on them to raise the fee...was it gas cost related? A lot of crews in the DFW area claimed they were losing money by the time they got to the houses and did the work. i'd tell them just drive smarter:crazy:

I am with a third generation lawncare company, trust me, look into Ferris.

We have 2 61" deck commercial mowers from 86' with well over 25K hrs on each one and they still run like brand new. Most or the mowers you get at lowes, homedepot etc are junk.
