I don't even have a vehicle to put everything i'm buying right now, lol. When I get back stateside in Aug I'm going to be looking for a Buick Enclave. It looks like it has a 170amp alt, wow thats pretty **** high for stock.

that dont matter. that vehical also has a shit ton of electronics in it. It probably uses 140 of those amps...

I am a strong believer in a nice alt, big three and one high end batt. then he'll have all the power he needs and room to upgrade in the future

well yes, but you have to consider the reasoning for them to put a semi-hi output alt to begin with. If anyone choses that car, they have to do some serious testing to see how much more headroom they need for their system. but I am pretty sure with all that stupid navi crap and extra computer related junk, half that current is drawn by that and left over is barely enough to power a 1kw system. and that is assuming that thing is in constant charge when the radio is on. IMO much easier and better to use older model vehicals.
