laptop problems

idk whats goin on with my laptop...its an hp dv2000...and since yesterday after wiping down the screen..it makes this super loud whistling noise...and when i close the screen...its even louder...any one have any ideas what the hell this could be?

ps...i contacted HP, but their customer support is useless

when something isn't working on my computer, I hit it. Try that and see if it helps. So far its worked for me about 90% of the time. Seriously.

Hope you get it fixed.

ive gotten so pissed off by the noise i just punched my keyboard, ive tried...it wont go away....FYI for anyone...never buy an HP....They break and their customer service sucks

well the same thing happened to my new dell i9300 and it was actually a small piece of paper touching the fan blades, i used a can of comp. air to blow it out and then i used tweezers to pull it out the vent. Have you tried comp. air?

no i havent tried that...the fan has always made noise before this...like a rattling/vibrating noise

i used to have to clean the fans on my previous compaq all the time. the best way is to just remove the panel on the bottom of the computer the covers the fans and take a can of air and blow it out. if you've never done it, you'll be surprised at how much dust gets in there. all you need is a small phillips screwdriver and maybe a butterknife to pop the panel off. its real simple. good luck

yea try to remove the cover and see if its a rattley fan

I have heard of pieces of packing material getting lodged in laptop vents during shipping so it could be that. but like the other guys said it could be a loose fan

hmmm the only thing that I can think of is the lcd inverter mounted at the bottom of the lcdscreen. It will emit a high pitched whine if it is damaged in some way.

i just bought an HP laptop and love it, Ive used Dell's and Quosimo's or however u spell it, but I like mine, nothing extravagant but its fast!! Good luck gettin yours fixed, mine came with a small microfiber clothe to clean my screen with, try using one of those instead

dont get me wrong...i love the computer...its fast and all that...its just it always seems like its breaking...and everytime i contact HP..i get some indian who dosent know how to help
