Anaranchi obviously is not very familiar with Lanzar's amps. The Viberant (xx8) series is probably lanzar's most over-rated stuff. I'm pretty sure the 248 is almost identical internally to the 240 which is rated for 2x375@ 2 ohms (750x1 bridged). It is probably closer to 2x250 and 500 bridged - which is what I think you could realistically expect from the 248.
The hifonics stuff would probably be worth looking into if you can spend that much. I would also recommend the Vibe 1200D or Viberant 1500D (same amp, just different looks) on ebay. Both can be had for less than $200 shipped and will do over 1200 watts rms at 1 ohm and over 700 at 2.
You can also find the Lanzar Optidrive 500.2 and 1000.1D on ebay for good prices from time to time. That is thier best line and I personally think they're on par with some of the better stuff on the market. Under-rated, very high quality controls, and built in America.

I have about $250.oo to spend on an amp because I'm going to buy the kappa perfect 10.1 subs but a guy was going to trade me my to ref subs for another profile clarus 600m I trying to see if running two amps would be better or just find an amp that can handle both subs without getting hot . that what happens when you brigde the 600m down to 2ohm it takes a while thow to get hot to its credit but I'm talking about to differnt level subs so I don't think it's worth getting two of those amps I rather just one so any suggestion would help perfer mono but any amp that can handle will work no more then $250.00
n2audio.. you get your stuff from stupid articles with god knows how much reliability.. i ordered a lanzar vibe 1200D, and in fact, it IS a piece of shit.. it's in perfect condition, but doesn't nearly put out the 750RMS it claims at 2ohms.. it's weaker than a RF Power series amp that was puttin out 462RMS (the guy at al & ed's checked it out for me and).. the lanzar amp is an ultimate piece of crap.. all of them are, i assume, since the vibe is supposed to actually be pretty good for a lanzar.. get a life n2audio, you don't know jack, you internet-researchin freak

Wow, you have issues. Maybe YOU need to do some research and find a good THERAPIST.
I've owned a 1200D, and 3 other Vibe amps - power for the 1200D was fine - durability was terrible - dealt directly with lanzar to get the problem solved, and got a lot of good info in the process.
BTW, the 1200D was tested by one of the most technically accurate websites out there (carsound) to do 1262 at 1 ohm. You got a lemon (so did I) - in no way does that mean they are all a "piece of shit".

Firstly, please refrain from the condescending comments your continually espouse.
Secondly, I'd be more than happy to go head to head with you on the lanzar amps issue.
Until recently, I had mainly the same opinion as you about Lanzar; didnt like them a bit, and too many problems with them in the past. I then came across a good deal on a Vibe 258 and decided to give them another chance. I haven't looked back since. Thier quality has improved 100%, the design of the circuitry is much cleaner, and the overall output of the amp has also increased a good deal. I would still take slight issue with thier stated ratings, however, they are not very far off. A minor issue.
Every company has it's good days and bad day's- nothing can change that.
I have personally gotten bad amps from Rockford, Phoenix Gold, and Alpine, among others, and I still use them as well.
I as well as you, would likely take issue with anyone defaming those companies.
One bad model is no cause to say that the whole company is bad.
And quite frankly, I can prove your point incorrect each time I turn on my system.
Just run of the luck man. Give another lanzar a try and I am sure that you will not be un-satisfied.

Z - if you're satisfied with the 258, you should check out an optidrive.
dude the company is the same one as pyle and pyramid.. you expect their shit to be good? i thought lanzar's were supposed to be decent.. but it's no different from pyle... total crap..

You are mis-informed and/or misunderstand the quality of Lanzar's many different product lines, AND you don't understand ANY principles of big business.
i'm not misinformed.. the quality is crap.. i got a bad amp.. what does that mean? it's crap.. wtf kind of a mono amp has two speaker outputs and gives bridged power ratings if you look around? how do you bridge a mono amp? only a piece of shit lanzar that isn't really a mono amp says that.. n2audio, you are a ******.. you obviously bought a buncha lanzar shit, and refuse to admit that yer system is ***.. congratulations, ******, you have an assmobile.. First of all - As Zane mentioned - every company has its lemons. If you ask Lanzar they'll tell you straight up they had technical problems with the first two builds of the 1200D. From that point on they had no more problems than any other line of amplifier.
Furthermore, if you had reasonable knowledge of car audio you'd know that just about every mono amp on the market has multiple speaker ouputs so you can conveniently wire multiple voice coils. Also, you're getting your "bridged power ratings" info from some 2nd rate source. All of lanzar's legit retailers take thier information straight from Lanzar's website. A little 6th grade intuition will tell you that .
As far as my personal experience with Lanzar products - you get exactly what's advertised. With Vibe - you have a decent entry level product that's well worth the investment. With Optidrive - you get a product that can hold its own vs. just about any other amp on the market. Every independent testing facility and every opti user I've ever known agrees. It might be of value to know that the Optidrives today are still being built by the company that built them in the 80's and 90's when they were the #1 amplifiers on the planet.

I dont want to jump in on either side and say that lanzar is good or bad but i have a lanzar vibe 250 and there is no way that it puts out 900 watts rms with a 50 amp fuse rating. Even if it is 100% efficient and your alternator puts out 14.4v then you can only get 720 watts worth of power. I know it doesnt put out that much but thats ok, lots of companies overrate their stuff. Im not saying that it is a bad company but it makes me wonder about a company that overrates their stuff that badly that often.
actually, every single monoblock amp i've seen had a single speaker/sub ouput, not two.. everybody knows that the lanzars are overrated, i don't care what YOU have to say... i would never listen to an idiot who tries to sound all autosound-smart while runnin a set of PYLE subwoofers in his trunk.. obviously YOU think the amps are great.. any piece of shit amp can drive a subwoofer that's worth about as much as a set of headphones.. face it, mr. i'm-trying-to-sound-so-****ing-smart: you drive an assmobile and your audio sounds like ***. lanzars ****, open up a poll... don't try to use your "ohh i'm so smart, so listen to blah blah blah" nonsense.. give it two choices..
