Lanzar

well i'll put it this was i had a friend who had 2 audiobahn 10's (i know yuck) and a lanzar 600w amp i swapped the amp out for a clarion apx200.2 260w bridged and they were louder and cleaner

i had a vibe 248 for about a year still got it as a back up now but its a solid amp really surprising to me never had any problems with it and have used it to power quite a few subs including the type r for a little while. sound pretty good so from me i say they are solid amps. It actually outlasted two different alpine amps i had as well as a profile which died not too long ago.

Back 4-5 years ago I had a Lanzar Vibe 4 channel (rated like 100w per channel...never tested to verify this). Ran that sucker down to 2ohm bridged for two weeks (while I was waiting on my new amp), and though it would kick into protection after 10-20 seconds of hard play, it never released the magic smoke. Ran it that amp in general for a year or two and it never gave me any problems.

Also Car Sound reviewed a "lower end" lanzar mono amp (1200d I think), and it did rated power with low distortion.

Vibe 430 - solid budget amp - ran great at 4 ohms stereo. Would overheat at 2 ohms stereo/4 ohms mono after slamming at or near full volume for a half hour or so. Well worth the cost imo.

Vibe 230 - again, very satisfied. Never had a problem.

Both those amps were in my car for a couple years ~'01-'03.

I replaced the 430 w/a 1200D - that did give me some major problems. I had 2 go up in smoke at 2 ohms. One while playing heavy bass at high volume, the other just went.

I dealt with Lanzar directly to have the 2nd one warranted and found out they had some issues with the initial build and the 1st revision. They claimed the 3rd build was glitch-free, and the replacement amp they sent me directly from the factory worked flawlessly, and seemed quite powerful at 2 ohms.

I also put a 230 in my sisters boat that after 3 seasons no problems.

Currently have a 430 in my own boat that I got used off ebay. It works fine except that it takes a couple minutes for the right channel to turn on. Once it fires up it runs great the rest of the day. The initial turn on is the only problem.

I think the a/b's are somewhat over-rated, but pretty powerful for the cost. I saw a claimed benchtest for the 430 when the black vibes were the "new" lanzar amps being sold. 296x2 bridged - rated at 400x2. Seems about right - over-rated, but not enough to make a major difference. Especially at the price.

The Lanzar amps are anything but special except for hte vibe series and higher end stuff. As for the subs i had a pretty good experience. There definitely a bang for you buck company and won't let you down. I had 2 Lanzar MAX 12 and though they are no RE SX's, for the money they are very worth it.

i got the 1200d last week, ive had it running at 1 ohm for about 5 days now and ive seen smoke 3 or 4 times so far and 3 of the caps in the amp have the tops blown off, but it still works

I have the Lanzar 1 ohm 1100watt high current Vhc amp and this thing kicks as loud as my MTX1501D when I had it. It stays nice and cool cause of the fan and puts out true watts at 14.4 volts. Running 2 alpine type r's and it wangs. Only been in a week so we will see in time. Good luck with yours.
