Vibe 430 - solid budget amp - ran great at 4 ohms stereo. Would overheat at 2 ohms stereo/4 ohms mono after slamming at or near full volume for a half hour or so. Well worth the cost imo.
Vibe 230 - again, very satisfied. Never had a problem.
Both those amps were in my car for a couple years ~'01-'03.
I replaced the 430 w/a 1200D - that did give me some major problems. I had 2 go up in smoke at 2 ohms. One while playing heavy bass at high volume, the other just went.
I dealt with Lanzar directly to have the 2nd one warranted and found out they had some issues with the initial build and the 1st revision. They claimed the 3rd build was glitch-free, and the replacement amp they sent me directly from the factory worked flawlessly, and seemed quite powerful at 2 ohms.
I also put a 230 in my sisters boat that after 3 seasons no problems.
Currently have a 430 in my own boat that I got used off
ebay. It works fine except that it takes a couple minutes for the right channel to turn on. Once it fires up it runs great the rest of the day. The initial turn on is the only problem.
I think the a/b's are somewhat over-rated, but pretty powerful for the cost. I saw a claimed benchtest for the 430 when the black vibes were the "new" lanzar amps being sold. 296x2 bridged - rated at 400x2. Seems about right - over-rated, but not enough to make a major difference. Especially at the price.
