Now I know that Lanzar's are really over-rated. But for $140 + shipping, it's pretty darn enticing to buy. You guys think this amp will do atleast 2 x 1000rms @ 2ohms... or 1 x 1500rms @ 4ohms, No?

my guess would be it wouldn't do too close to rated power.... but if you are having trouble affording 2kw of power you can't afford the wiring/alternator/batt upgrade it'll take to run the **** thing because you CAN'T cheap out on those.....

Power specs from the manual:

RMS at 4 ohms - 2 x 300

RMS at 2 ohms - 2 x 450 (1 x 900 bridged at 4 ohms)

I would bet those are relatively accurate.

It has 2 x 35A fuses.

Never trust sales specs on budget amps.

For $140 you probably won't find much more power than that out of an A/B amp, but for some reason Lanzar's marketing dept. thinks overblown sales specs are a good thing.

thanks

I owned one, it blew every sub I powered by it. I liked it alot, I smoked it once and used it for about six after, then traded a friend and he used it for a year till it blew up. He did something wrong Im sure. It made my crossfire 15" XT2 POUND, thats a 1500rms sub. Would i buy another? naw I need more power, but best for the money I speak from exprience... itll do the 1500, I had mine bridged at 1.3 ohm, crazy lol

You can put it on ice and bridge it to 1/2 ohm if you want...It's not doing anywhere near 1500.

Unless your "experience" involves an o-scope, current guage and a controlled impedance it doesn't mean much, and if it does Lanzar has defied the laws of physics regarding efficiency.

My experience doesnt involve a scope but I dont talk out of my ***, the crossfire XT2 takes a tons of power, 1500rms. If its blown for to much power three times from the Lanzar then what does that mean? It means its putting out good power, have you ever used this amp personally? If I've never used the amp personally, I dont comment at all, there is tons of idiots that bash all kinds of brands all day and have never even heard one. Have I heard a Sundown? Nope, but it seems to be a bad-*** amp. I used this for eight months, Pretty good power.

it has 70 amps of fusing, its IMPOSSIBLE for that amp to make 1500w, half that is more like it. If you are blowing up subs it because you have the gain and bass boost cranked more than likely

Actually mine was on 40a fuses, 35a are really hard to find.....

No it wasnt from boost or gain, I know how to tune an amp. The vc's were black....

I've used several vibe series amps. The old black ones. The non opti's don't vary a whole lot other than the chassis. What you're claiming doesn't line up with ANYTHING mathematically.

In Lanzar's OWN manual they state 450w x 2 RMS at 2 ohms stereo, or 900x1 bridged into 4 ohms for the mxa282. Why would that amp produce 1500w, or even close to that? If it does it is, hands down, the best buy on any new 2 ch a/b.

The Lanzar a/b amp that actually DOES produce 1500w rms uses 4x40A fuses and goes for around $300.

My 430 (w/2x25A's) was tested at 296x2. That's about 12w/A of fuse, which is right in line with what EVERY a/b will do.

For the 282 - 70x12= 840w. It may not be a very scientific way to determine actual power capabilities, but there is no reason to think the 282 will vary significantly one way or the other, neither shold any other a/b for that matter.
