I'd rather have the STi but if your not going to put the AWD to use...why get it...

i was comparing it to the wrx sti and they say the evolution is much better. ive watched videos of them racing and the evo smokes it. i want it because right now i have a 02 impala ss and its to slow for me so i want a performance car

What videos? In almost every Car and Driver or Road and Track review, the STi handed the Evo its *** on dirt and track...IIRC, they liked the Evo more becuase of the steering felt tighter and felt more connected to the car.

i'd go with the wrx myself, in person they are much more impressive to me. Not to mention the variable center diff is just plain sexy. They also seem like they would be easier to live with on the day to day.

plus ive heard alot of bad things about suburus reliability. my mom owns a mitsubishi galant and it has never broken down so thats a consideration.

either way they're much to fast for the novice driver (yourself) stock. And if all you're concerned about is straight line performance you are definatly WASTING your money.

Bone stock against bone stock the STi is quicker in the straightline than an Evo 8. The argument for the Evo being 'better' was always a more balanced and connected feel while driving.

My suggestion would be to drive both before deciding to see which you personally find more comfortable. I also suggest researching this on a different site. There are only a few people here who have valid opinions when it comes to vehicle performance.

BTW, Evo VII's are hot if your cousin really has one. I've wanted to get my hands on one of those for a while.
