Laid off

You're right man. You must know more about my life and job than I do. You must know all about the classes I have gone through and the certifications that I have. My bad. And you must also know how much money I make.
I'm sure you're just a regular badass that claims to have served in group and "chose" infantry. There are many great job opportunities pertaining to the infantry in the civilians sector that must pay way more.

I can assure you that I have done more to further a positive military image than you ever will or have. Just research my charity 'Big Soldiers for Little Soldiers' and also 'Operation Kids Christmas'. I founded the first and raised over 10k in the community for the latter. But again, you know me better than I do.
Then if that is who you are, good for you. As for me, I have chose what I wanted to do with every change of branch I made. I have a year left to finish my second degree in environmental science, then I will go for my juris doctorate with a concentration in environmental law. Everything I have done in the military is worthless in the civilian world. 8 semester hours of military history, 27 semester hours of emergency medical, 3 upper level management, 6 in electronic labs and theory, and a slue of other worthless crap that amounts to nothing. I have nearly the hours needed for an associates from this time, but none apply to the fields of science I have chose to pursue. I will have over 180 semester hours by the time I finish this degree, as all my electives must be math, biology or physics. If I wanted to go be an ems/emt, it may work out fine, but I don't.

I have not meant to insult you personally, but I look at the military and the experience in it objectively. The day you begin acap or start school, you will learn what it was all worth to the real world. I have met so few people that made a perfect fit for the service, that is why I won't just throw out "Join the Military" as a blanket answer to unemployment. Despite what you may think, I have enjoyed my time in, I seen a lot of places I never would have seen, and done things I never would have done. The hard stuff in the service is easy, it is the easy stuff that is hard.

I hope you enjoy your time as much as I did, and get to leave healthy.
