im trying to put some real bass into my brother's jetta[2001]. i just figured id give him one of my re se12 [works very well in my rav4] in a sealed box. when i hooked it up i could fell alot less bass than in my rav4. i thought it was the amp so i ran a long speaker wire from my amp to the sub in his car. same issue .

i wanna get something for him that will give him alot of bass .

what can i get him?

will a RE SX12 do the job?

does it make a diffrence if i do a ported box instead of a sealed one?

was the se in the same box in your rav4?

a ported box will be louder than a sealed box.

a trunk car with the back seat up probably isnt going to let you feel the bass like your suv did.

Well you are comparing a car to an SUV, which allows more air flow freely, so of course it won't get as loud as the SUV without some work.

Ported box will help some I would imagine.

im looking to do a sealed box for the jetta, i would like to know what to get?

i bought a re sx12 yesterday but i aint had a chance to see if it will be better for the jetta.

also, eventhough the re sx12 are not recommended for sealed enclosures has anyone tried it ?

You are not going to get louder with a sealed box. I never run sealed, very inefficient.

please dont do that to a sx,its not recommended even in the manual.

Wouldnt have to put the seat down for 12" Mag v4. Drop one of those in his ride, it should sound real good, plus they only need 1 cubic foot sealed enclosure, save him some room in that little a$$ trunk. You can check them out here...........http://stereointegrity.com/mag.php

Port the box and let the back seat down. It should get close to your SUV.
