i will give an answer.
his can be louder. chances are they will be very close to the same. but with really good installs his can be louder. heck even with a middle class install he should be louder
but with that said both current scores lower then what they could be. i run two 15's and break 150 on my TL. both of those system should be able to do the same. this tells me that both installs are amature at best so i think they will both be very comparable. the one that wins will be the one that is willing to redo his install and not just throw more power on it.
to give a better answer we would need to know ALOT more about the installs. i assume you both have very nice electrical system. if not you are both putting out about half the power you think you are

To 'push' 4000 watts, that amplifier will be drawing somewhere between 275 and 350 amps. For a daily system doing anything but a short burp, you are NOT getting that much power from your amp. Your voltage will simply drop too much. That's not even including the rest of your system. If you think you are getting 4kw or more, you are kidding yourself.
In all likelyhood, the guy with the eight 12's will be louder. If he's not, something is wrong with his setup. He has you out-displaced by a good amount.

man i sure do appreciate an answer..you are prolly the first person in this whole thread to actually talk about what i asked..but anyway the dude with the 8 12s is 17 and installs all his stuff hiself and i have all mine installed by the best car stereo shop around here ..and i no my scores could be louder but i dont have the box tuned for competetiton i told them to build it to sound loud and shake everything because im really not to big into competetition any way

why do you care? What are you proving to yourself about this. With a little more knoweledge you could of saved $2,000 and have as loud of a system with less.
I will give you some advice. Get some box planers from this forum to design you a box that fits your needs. Then... once you have the plans, since your dad has a construction company, make your box. How many amperes is your alt rated at? What kind of kinetic batteries do you have?

the shops is in auburn and its called "the car stereo shop" lol..heres the pic you wanted and i tried to copy and paste the picture of the 8 12s but it wouldnt let me but he has pictures on his myspace so just add him as your freind a look..his name is Jared Pope and his email is popester112@hotmail.com
