L7s blown?

are my L7s blown? i had them hooked up yesterday to a kx1200.1 and my installer said he couldn't even turn up the amp because they had a funny smell to them when he did, i bought them as refurbs from hifisoundconnection.com

did they work? do they make scratching soudns when you push in on the cone? I've heard L7's have a funny smell to them when new. yeah they work but they're not loud and when i turned the amp up myself they still were'nt very loud but the installer told me my box was kinda small too but kicker made this box so i didn't think anything would be wrong. bought the box from sonicelectronix.com

yeah its blown, thats what happend to mine, keep playing it some mre and it will stop altogether. i had warranty on mine, so i had it replaced about 3-4 times.

Mine had a terrible smell when i was first breakin them in but they were brand new......they are dual 4 ohm right?

yeah they're dual 4s... i know these things arent hittin as hard as they're suppose to, they're not puttin out any spl the seats aren't even shaking and i saw people on realm of excursion who were flexing their roofs with these same subs. somethins gotta be wrong. can the box being too small affect the sound? and by how much?

the box is ported but it does look pretty small. its a lot smaller than the box i had my other subs in i'm not sure what the dimensions are. i tried to get a link but sonicelectronix won't open for some reason. maybe you've seen it be4? its black and has the L7 logo on both sides
