are my L7s blown? i had them hooked up yesterday to a kx1200.1 and my installer said he couldn't even turn up the amp because they had a funny smell to them when he did, i bought them as refurbs from hifisoundconnection.com

I have bought from them. They seem to be good people. How long ago did you buy them? If recently, tell them you tried installing them today at a shop and they told you that the subs are no good. Tell them they arrived DOA (dead on arrival), not working.

i bought them 2 weeks ago. so all i gotta say is they were DOA and they'll refund me? i wanted to send them back for good not get another refurb. shit id rather pay the extra money for a 2 new 06 L7s than go through this again. i know you've probably heard that Lil Wyte song Hood Run Down. they wouldnt even hit the lows in the beginning and my old subs (audiobahn flame Qs) did, so i know somethins up

before i do anything else i wanna make sure i don't need a bigger box. just measured it and i'm not sure how you go about the whole length and width shit when it comes to this so from the front of the box going from side to side i measured 2.5 feet then from the front of the box to the back i measured about 17 inches? is this too small?

i have a 06 15 L7 and yesterday it had a funny smell so i stop playing them but today i played them again and the smell is gone a the sub sound better then ever and i dynomated my truck today sounds 100% better but your subs sound blown why by refurb subs amps maybe but subs never hifi is real good they should treat you well ive delt with them before great costumer service

If you want a swap out or maybe a replacement get ahold of hifisoundconnection. Theyre pretty good about it. I bought some l7's from them a few months back and had the same problem. A few days before the 3 month period of having them I finally got them in and the amp wound up blowing and taking a sub with it. I mailed it out to them 2 days before the 3 month period was up and got a replacement no problem.

My L7s had that same smell but they are still hitting hard as ever. They are about 2 months old. I hear that from alot of solo-baric owners. Them having that smell.

it's totally nornmal to have glue smell on a new driver...but sound slike the box is holding you back, two dual 4's off a KX12001 should rock...
