L7s arent hitting hard

i think its a mix of having a ported box, hitting your cars resonant frequency, and the characteristics of the L7 subs.

for 1 with a ported box, the extra low end combined with cabin gain will make the low end REALLY LOUD compared to upper bass frequencies like 50hz-80hz.

Resonant frequency of the car will hit its note and make that note LOUD and the rest will not be as loud. Thats why an EQ is good so you can reduce the output at that frequency.

L7's are kind of bottom heavy and boomy by nature.

I think you should try using the recommended sealed enclosure for them after you try all your troubleshooting. You'll probably like it better if you like your music to sound balanced. Top end will be alot more punchier too.

Yes it is really that sick.
And to me, having a different headunit is no longer unique (if thats your case). Everybody has one.
Didn't know the main reason of buying an at least "decent" aftermarket head unit was just too be unique. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Have you aim the box differently, tried em in a different one... etc???

Cool guys, cool.

If you had read my original post, you would see that I said the 04 Accord HU is a pain in the ***. Meaning tough to mess with and crappy afterstock HU. On top of that, I liked the interior look of the dash.

I have moved the box around. I will let you know what Ross (HAVINGFUN) and I do to fix the problem.

Could be many things!!!

Thanks,

MJB

lol...i have a viper 2500.1 on EACH 12" L7 of mine...and they take the power like champs. and how many cubes is each sub getting..ive experimented with my L7's a lot and the box i have now is the best one i have found for em....ported with about 3.3 cubes per sub.

i ran 2 12" dual 2 ohm subs off my pg tantrum before my XXX.. i ran them in a 5.3 cu ft box tuned to 40hz and that thing got LOUD. i would definately check into the LOC on your headunit and your settings on your amp man.. you can always try building a new box also cause a shitty box will kill you but i believe BiaBia was a pretty **** good box builder.

Ok so you keep the same Voltage or current. But you are still changing the Resistance or impedence, which is going to change your results no matter what. I'm done teaching.
Umm... take a JL 1000/1, it doesnt matter whether you have a 2 ohm load or 4 ohm, you still get a result of 1000 watts. Unless 1000watts is different than... 1000 watts... hmm

Yep, i remember when they tested the 500/1 there was only a MAX difference of like 40wrms with all these different variables:

1.5ohm, 2ohm, 3ohm, or 4ohm 11v, 12v, 13v, 14v

I think it made its max power at 4ohms @14v
