L7 with round ports?

Have any of you experimented with round ports and L7s even though kicker recommends slotted? I'm working with fiberglass and with organic shapes, a round port would be ideal. Also the enclosure "stairstep" onto another plane. Any recomendations? the volume is about 2.3ft^3 for each 12" sub. What frequency should i be trying to get?

can i plug the volume into BBPs even though its shape is irregular?

the sides look like this

the front looks like this

the ports will be on the back or sides and will be hidden once the whole trunk is glassed. If it doesn't work out I can cover them back up.

I haven't used a round port for the l7 myself, but if designed correctly therre will be no difference in the way that the box performs with either type.

you will have slight turbulance on the pvc, so I'm told, but I have never heard the difference.. I think really the only difference is the volume the port takes up in the box is smaller with the aeros

thanks for all the info. I will make a build log with pics for you guys as I continue to do the install. For now, heres one exclusive with my new wheels...
