There is absolutely no way to give you a correct answer. It all depends on power, box size, tuning frequency, vehicle, electrical system, sound deadening, the list just goes on and on.

From a technical standpoint, the l7 will gain somewhat in spl because of the additional cone area. However, the w7 will surpass it in overall ouptut because of the significant amount of displacement it has over the l7. i dont know the exact numbers but the displacement of a 12w7 is a but more than that of a 12l7 meaning that the w7 will play louder across the frequency range. the l7 may peak louder but as a whole the w7 will be louder given the ideal set up for both.
