L7 rattling from subwoofer?

i poped my trunk and noticed my 05 L7 was rattling from the subwoofer... i think it might be the plastic thing that goes around it where you put in the screws but im not sure?

what could be rattling in the subwoofer? i dont smell coil and never have, now i do abuse them pretty hard but im always sure to check if they bottom out + smell of coil... so could just prolonged abuse cause something to come loose? could this be the notorious tinsle slap?

just isolate to verify it is the sub, unplug it, and see if it stops, then you can isolate it's the woofer or the box..

Try taking the sub out of the enclosure and playing it free-air at low volumes. If it still makes the noise, try to find where it's coming from. It could be from the tinsels or maybe even the spider coming off of the basket.

probly tinsel slap is the culprit.

Might also be that an air leak has developed around the mounting. It can create a similar noise. If the free air test doesn't verify it's the sub, reseal the box and add some new gasketing material to the basket of the sub when you remount it.

Is your amplifier mounted to your box? If so that could be making a rattling noise. I heard a weird rattling noise one day and i thought it was my subs making the noise so i checked it out and then i pressed my amp and held it and the rattling stopped and so it was my amplifier is prolly starting to come loose from all the bangin. So see if that could be the problem.
