alright I inherited a 15" L7 and am going to make a box for it tomorow.Just wondering if all my numbers are right. 15" height x 34 width x 30 depth.this will come to 7.236 internal volume. As for the port. 13.5" height x 6 width x 38.59 length. This port area will take up 1.8 i belive. And the sub displacement is .2 roughly I think.Im going for a 5.2 internal after all displacement with 30 hz tuning.

5cu 30hz is fine. ya measurements seem correct. it will get lowwwwwww
well i put 5.2 in winisd. And i made it work becasue the port and sub will take up 2 cubic feet so that will leave me right around 5.2.I was just making sure my numbers were right.

if the inside measurements are 15x34x30 then you have 8.85cf.

if the outside dimensions are 15x34x30 then you have 8.04cf

the port area is correct 1.8cf then add the .2cf for sub =2cf taken up

if those are the inside dimensions your port would be tuned to 25.4hz(ruffly)....way tooo low

if those are your outside demensions you would be tuned to 26.75hz(ruffly)...way too low

make the port only 9.5 inches long if you gave inside demensions and

make the port 12.25 inches if you gave outside measurements, either of these will tune you to 40hz, about the highest you want to go for a daily driver with alot of spl.

fyi here is a good tool for you to use

not to be rude or anything but i think thats wrong i used this. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/boxcalculator.asp and it gave me 7.2

I don't know why no one has said this yet.. but with 15" of height on the box subtracted by a 1 1/2" (assuming using 3/4mdf) and the cutout on a 15" Kicker is like 14".... this would not fit.. correct me if i am wrong.. you may be talking about internal dimensions.

15 X 34=510

510 X 30 =15300

15300 divided by 1728=8.8541666666666666

so 8.85cf

that link defies math if it says different.

the 1728 is 1 cubic feet in inches. 12 X 12 X12=1728

you first find the area in inches since thats waht you gave it in, so you find the cubic inches first then convert to cubic feet by deviding by 1728

they are wrong, you can check my math

it will fit, barely heres a pic of mine, the port is 6 inches wide and there is an inch on the outside of the subs so i wasnt mounting them to the joint of the box

P.S. my box is a little over 9.5cf with a port area of 80sq inches 9 inches long, making it tuned to 40hz. and the intire inside is fiberglassed for strength. the box is loud as all hell
