Like the title i have 2 12" L5s one mounted with the basket inside the box the other is at a 180degree phase shift. Both get extremely hot to touch(magnet and center of the sub) after listening to them as loud as i can get them for about 3 songs or so. Are my voice coils gunna fry? What can i do to help this situation? Or just leave them be, it will be ok?

i have like 700rms to one and only like 400rms to the other. i will be pushing 700rms to both as soon as my amp arrives. and kicker says 600rms. they do not distort or bottom out or anything like that. actually i think they sound **** good

a motor that's hot to the touch = a motor assembly that's doing its job..

its supposed to wick heat through it, and expose the heat along the surface area, to be dissapated..

unless you're smelling the stench of coils (I dont think you are, else you would have posted "what's that smell?")

its fine... bang away...

exactly...
most people would be surprised to know how little power becomes accoustic energy, and how much is dissipated as heat...

the % is mind blowing.

x2 like an amp, if it's warm does not dictate it's bad, just doing it's job, dissipating heat.
