Hey, I just got a new system, a L5 15" square kicker in about 4.2 cubic feet ported box, made at car shop, with a MTX thunder6500D class amp, my car runs at about 13.5V so i say my sub is getting around 600 - 700W rms into 2 ohm load. Now I heard my 15" kicker in a ported box can easily take 1000W rms. Right nows its pretty loud, its brand new, the sub doesnt move a whole lot, after it breaks in some, will it move more freely??? and souind louder and/or deeper??? also the people at car place said not to play it loud when trunk is open because you can blow the sub because of back pressure? is this bullshit or is it true? Also would it be a HUGE difference to buy like a 1000W RMS amp? Should it still sound really good???

I was thinking about a JBL1200.1 to push it? too much power?? All this is in a 1995 Ford Taurus.

Also what kind of settings should I set the amp gain and bass boost and all that shit on???
