Its rated at 2500 rms. you would probably need at least 1200 rms to get it going. but yes you need an amp that does power at 1 ohm or 4 ohm. its a dual 2 ohm sub. and it will work in 2.1 cubes sealed or 3.5 cubes ported. you could probably run it in 3 cubes ported, but not any less.
