Alright.. the packages arrive in plain cardboard boxes with "7elephants" printed all over it..

opening them up, we have an attractive, black cardboard box.

also- there is a spec sheet with the t/s parameters, and recommended box sizes.

inside of the cardboard boxes, the woofer is encased in Styrofoam.

so.. lets take the woofer shall we?

on first glance.. it appears to be built well (for a Chinese woofer). i will go more in depth, but, i know some want pictures NOW so here we go!

yes. packaging is ok.. not how i would ship a woofer (the motor structure isnt supported very well) but, they both arrived a-ok, so must not be too bad Now, as an aside- 7elephants service was fantastic! i had a problem ordering (my mistake) and they called me back within the hour, and fixed it no problem! the woofers also shipped the same day as payment! i did have to call for tracking #'s, but when i did call, they were very fast at providing everything i needed. I must mention (again) that 7elephants SEEMS to be the official konaki distributor (payment goes directly to konaki, and 7elephants is who konaki lists as the place to send items for warrent repair) so, warranty will be intact! They DID tell me they would be sending me d2's, and i recieved d1's... but to be honest, it could be a miscommunication (some of the people at 7elephants speak english with a very thick accent.. could have been "lost in translation", so to speak. and it does appear that d1's are the only option!

these bitches are beefy! i took a comparison shot. on the left is a tc4hp driver. middle is the konaki, right is an old ed k series (first edition, built by resonance (i believe.. dd's build house)

pulling off the attractive "konaki" embossed motor boot, we have 3 3/4" ceramic slugs. And a bit of excess glue.

the cone is paper, with a nice stitched surround, and a bit of cloth material on the cone.. never personally seen that, but it does look nice!

30mm xmax. If that's legit, it implies this is not just a DD 9500 knock-off. Correct me if Im wrong, but the xmax on a DD 9500 is considerably less than that.

Im not a big fan of the new frames DD is using (and a few olthers now obviously). I know they perform well, but they just look... cheap/cheesy to me. And you know, looks are so important. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

yeah, but this frame has been around a bit longer than the dd one (cadence has been using it for a while.)
