They are the exact same boards. Are you wiring your sub/s at .7 or do you have a box rise of .7? If this amp see's a box rise below 1 ohm it will go to protect. It will give you about 1500 real watts rms. Good luck.

I've got a LNIB Power Acoustik Gothic series 4000. it's rated at 2200 rms at 1 ohm

that amp wont go into protect below 1 ohm i been running mine for months at .5 and that amp will do more around 2200 not 1500

^^^^ Did you do a power test using DMM's to confirm that? A BAMF-5500 doesn't put out 2200 watts rms on a 12 volt system, so how are you getting 2200rms out of a BAMF-4000D? Also you may be able to wire the amp down to 1/2 ohm and it won't clip, but that is because your box-rise isn't falling below 1ohm while playing music. Try doing a power test on the amp at your burp frequency and post your results.

same board and they do around 2000w or so, some guys claim 2200w, I have a burnt up planet audio vx2200d sittin on my floor, how bad you want a board? lol

What tells you those are the same board? For one, the ov1-5500d is fused, the a3000db/qx1-3000d is not.
