This would make sense, but from everything I've read, Wilt got most of his points in the paint, so a 3 point line wouldn't have done much. Can you imagine a legit 7'1" dude with long arms and enormous hands camping out behind the 3 point line? Especially when he's playing against a bunch of white stiffs who are 6-8 inches shorter than him? Just look at the rebounds he grabbed every night, it's insane.

And there was no 3 second violation when Wilt played, giving him even more reason to stay close to the basket. Zone defenses were non-existent, and I think double-teams weren't allowed but I'm not sure. And remember scoring was much higher back then, the lowest-scoring team in the NBA that year averaged 111 points per contest. Hell, Wilt himself averaged 50ppg that year.

no, im saying that dunk I saw Lebron do the other night looked like about all he had...where as if Jordan dunked from where he did, he would have made it look easy.

I think lebron's height is underrated. He looks like he's 6 foot 10" what is he listed at anyone know?

I'm not a Kobe fan, but this was an impressive feat, no matter what. Everyone makes comparisons to Jordan, Magic, Bird, Kareem, but the NBA is a different breed nowadays. These guys grew up on Jordan, Bird, Kareem, Magic, etc. When did we ever see kids coming out of high school at 18 and scoring 25+ points a game and being on Sports Center every night making spectacular, unbelievable plays in their era? There are certain players who come around every so often and raise the bar. Wilt, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Jordan, were all this type of player and today's NBA athletes are excelling at a faster rate. They all want to be show stoppers and make their money. Only way to dso that is have impressive stats. Jordan wasn't the greatest when he came to the NBA and many of these younger guys are **** close to MJ on skill level with a lot of career left.

I don't know that the talent has changed as much as the rules. In the past defensive players were allowed to do a lot more without picking up a foul. More hand checking was allowed. Defensive players would use their arms to guide the offensive player through the air to alter the shot. Then again the offensive foul is called a lot more. I will say that teams were much better at shooting in the past.
