Got Bass?
Hey all, im in the middle of installing my knukonceptz 4 guage wiring kit today, and im stuck. Ive already stripped out all the old wires and i put the new ground wire and connected it up. (Btw amp isn't in yet, just running the wires). Anyways, got the power cable out hooked it up to the battery ran it through the firewall and hit myself in the head because i forgot about the inline fuse. Well i cut the wire about 12inches prob from the bat. and got ready to hook it up, and there is no way this 4 guage is fitting in that hole. Do i use one of these hook ups for them or what? I'm really confused, but i know a lot of you guys have this amp kit so just looking for some help, and i really don't want to run that wire through the firewall again, that took some time...

nevermind, ignore this....there was protective stuff on the inside where the power wire goes. Fits perfect now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

yeah they looked like they were meant to be there. I was messing around with it and one of the things just fell out....i was quite stunned. Then i loosened the little bolt and the rest came out. It was 3 pieces //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif But its all good now, well sort of.

I have another question, i think i may have fried that fuse: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

I had put the fuse in and wired it all up but i had to go to a meeting at work, so i left the extra wiring in the back seat, because i didn't have time to pull it through. Well i had the negative battery term disconnected for the first part, and when i got home on the last pull to get the rest of the wiring into the trunk, it connected with the ground wire and there was a fairly quiet pop and a great spark show, especially for at 7pm during the fall. Did i blow the fuse, i have no way to check because i have no amp right now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

check ur fuse to see if its blown, thats the only way u can tell really.
how can i tell? it looked the same to me when i checked it out right after i did it. It may have been a bit blacker, but i thought it may be from the engine heat.

lessons learned.
yeah i know...3 minutes of pulling wire and i still shoulda taken the 5 seconds to take the neg. cap off //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

if you connect your power wire while running it through the car, you need to stop and take it to a shop.

connecting power wire is the absolute last thing you do EVER

that may have been good to know, i never read it through any of the tutorials and stuff i ever read, go figure. It makes sense though now that i think about it, powers running through it all this time and I'm running it through the car. Maybe i really should have thought more when playing with electricity. First time wiring a car btw, obviously. Its all wired up now though, just might have to buy a new $8 inline fuse or holder, which really isn't too too bad.
