knu vs. welding cable??

I used klmx for part of my big 3. It works just fine. As long as you dont have any tight corners youll be set. Also, i think knu has some discounted short runs of wire on their site somewhere so maybe you could look into that as well. Either way will work, knu klmx or welding wire. Really depends on how tight of turns need to be made.

I'm going to agree with SPLluminator to a degree. I use Knukonceptz wiring and install gear exclusively these days, but it's not like there's nothing else out there. If the welding cable you're looking at is true 1/0 awg, it's flexible enough to be put to use in the vehicle and it's cheaper than the knu alternative, it's a good bet...

I didnt say to get the knu. I meant either is fine. And i meant it as this: Id consider KLMX similar to Welding wire, so by saying if you need something more flexable then id go with the Fleks wire and not the KLMX. But as in welding wire vs. klmx, id just choose the cheaper option.

Ok, champ...

KLMX is $1.75 a foot off of Knu's website, and off of here, welding cable is $2.18 per foot, or $1.84 if you order 50+ ft.. Comes down to CCA vs. pure copper if you're comparing KLMX vs the welding, your call. If you're trying to compare Kolossus vs. welding, I'd go with welding - nearly half the price for something that will perform exactly the same.

ok, so i figured out that the welding wire i can get is about $3 a foot. But they say its 2/0. Would it be worth the money, or should i get the KLMX? All I really want is the best i can get for the money

I use 2/0 welding cable for all of my stuff. It's very flexible, will fit most 1/0 accessories and was pretty cheap when I bought it through the company I used to work for.

I don't need pretty colored jackets to get power to my amps...

Hello Guys/

I have used 1/0-*TryStar Welding Cable* from the "coppercableman" [username on E/Bay] in my SC2/Saturn.

I bought the Red & Black colors.I like it also 'cause they use a [i believe a PVC Liner ] of the opposite color

of the Jacket.It's *Not* a paper liner/:cool:. I did the Big/3,well actually 4,w/the Starter upgrade to 1/0...

It was relatively cheaper, and I like it.I just bought 2 rolls of 2/0 from the same guy,and the Same colors

for my Stang Install and the Big/4...lol.

As the other posters have stated,I also do not need the fancy colors for the Install. I'll be using expandable

sleeving from this other E/Bay guy:Furryletters.I'll get Red and Black. It'll look nice,as I enjoy doing the Power

Cables/Speaker/Remote/Accessories wiring/Etc. I honestly do.Some other folks do not like the Wiring part

'cause of the tedious/time consuming/cable ties/etc. that's involved. But it's is one of the most *Important

Aspects* of the System longevity.I believe:*Do It Once...AND Do It Right*.You do not want to look back and

wonder why something came off/it's got a short somewhere/etc./:( .Not Worth It,No Way,No How...

I'm a TryStar Fan forever...Woot!!!.Take Care and good luck w/your system...

Best Regards/

Raymond
