Knee Injury

Just want to get an idea before I go to a doctor.

Back in May, I was playing basketball and went up for a lay up and ended up colliding with another player and the side of my hip and knee hit the concrete. After that my knee would be slightly tender after playing ball for a few weeks. Then I went out and played football and made a juke move, and ever since that my knee has been giving me problems from time to time(for the first week I could barely walk). I went to the doctor a while ago and he said it was a sprain (mind you this was a walk in clinic), so I didn't start playing basketball until just recently. But from time to time, my knee has been tender. Fast forward to this week, getting back into basketball, the first day I was ok, but after yesterday my knee is really swollen and directly behind the knee on the back of my leg is very tight. So anyhow, have any of you ever experienced this, and what was the prognosis.

im just a kid but im going to say see a real doctor,, dont let knee problems go on and on, i hyperextended my knee(or soething like that) i just ignored it and went on, my knee hurts from time to time now

See a doctor.

I've been disabled since July 28 1998 from an auto accident (not my fault) with nerve damage in my left leg, from just above the knee down into my foot.

Dont take your pain lightly, its your body telling you its damaged.

Being disabled sucks, get the attention now before it gets worse.

You'll be back on your knee's in no time.
Yeah no shit. Your sister always did like it from the back. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

has your knee "collapsed" on you at all since thishappened/..... like you will be walking and all the sudden it's like you have no muscle strength??? Do U Get sharp shooting pains under the knee cap occasionally?

^Hey I got in a sig quote ftw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you have a real good chiropractor in your area you might try him/her first. I had knee and back problems as an adolescent and numerous adjustments later, grew to be stong both in the knees and the back, no surgery whatsoever, sometimes I couldn't even move... You never know, may save you lots of time and money and hassle. My mom got out of multiple surgeries after chiropractic therapy. In the instance of a bad injury with true damage... Prolly shoud see a doctor.

No. That would be an ACL or MCL if I researched it correctly. From what I read a while back it's probably something to do with the meniscus or possibly cartilage. I have an appointment tomorrow and hopefully I'll be on my way to a full recovery.
