Kinetik power cell questions?

It's check out time...
I upgraded from the Memphis ST1000D to a xx-hercules so my 1F cap wont cut it anymore. I ordered a kinetik HC600 today and Im not sure what to do with it.

Should I continue to use the 1F cap placed after the kinetik or would it even help the cause?

I have done the big 3 all in 1/0 and have a beefy 150A stock alternator in the RRover, but I'm sure there is a reason for it, being that the vehicles electrical draws a lot from the system. So I'll probably be discharging my optima and the kinetik during extended play at full volume..

Will the kenetik hold up under this type of abuse?

Please go easy on me (first post here) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif -thanks guys!

smash the cap then continue
Thanks for the reply btlking. I wasnt sure if it would help/hurt anything but kinda had a 'every lil bit helps' attitude. Maybe thats not a good idea after all.

I saw lot's of posts about kinetik on the forums but didnt find anything about how they stand up to cycling. I ahh pretty much kill the car on a daily basis so I just hope it don't end up a dud after the abuse. The kinetik website didnt provide much info either, anyone have any experince with how they hold up after being slightly discharged many times?

Im not sure if its the same principal as say a yellow top, but I know I've killed a few red tops over the years with stock alternators...

personal opinion the 800 or 1400 would have been better choices but as long as you don't over drive the 600 you should be OK. the number of the cell 600 refers to how many watts it ideally supports.

dont play music with car off and you shouldnt have a problem

I was afraid of that and it's got me worried, that's why I'm asking questions, lol before its too late. I hoped that as long as I don't murder it for long periods of time it should be ok. On the kinetik forums (180db.com I think) I recall reading something about model number = total watts was just the ideal setup and recommendation. I may have to get 2 more in the end but space wont allow for anything more than the 600's modest 3" profile...

Edit:

I just now saw the link in your sig audiolife //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif, would you say that I should absolutely try to get a few more 600's to equal the total wrms of my system to be safe, or can I get by with just the one?

Thanks again guys.

dont call kinetik if you want info, they'll never call you back //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I couldnt ever get them to reply to me in any form, so I bought an HC1400 just to try out against my Alphacell's....I couldnt tell any difference so *shrug* .... Now I just got a pretty blue battery //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

when didnt they call you back? just asking because i used to work there and if you actually left a message they called you back.

I just wish they provided a bit more information, even the manual is kind of vague. Though I assume that they are, nowhere that I could find states that the power cells are specifically designed for frequent, deep discharge and fast recharge. I'd like to know the reserve time at max discharge rate ect ect... I'll wait to see what comes in the box, maybe it says more than the manual downloads from the web site. I probably need to read up on the big deep cycle topic again, but ive been lazy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

the capacity is done by c/20 (like alot of others) the cells are deep cycle and reserve time is more important in trolling motors in boats because its a long constant. in audio there is nothing constant unless you plan on running test tones for 40 minutes
