Yes, you can paint the basket, but you obviously have to do it while the sub is disassembled.

I'd rather have it powdercoated, if you can find a local shop to do it...

Paint chips; a proper PC job does not.

Ok, thats what I wanted to find out. If I can paint it as it sits. Cutting the surround and spider then removing the cut assembly. Then remove all bits of leftover surround and spider from the landings and clean it as much as possible...

If you've never seen it done before, you probably won't want to tackle it yourself the first time...

Hey Victor, it's gonna require reconing the sub to get to the basket... and it's a ***** to clean the basket of the old cone.

Depending on the sub, I'd just order a new basket to save me the trouble of cleaning it.
