Power My R's

Type r's have a power handling of 200-500 watts RMS. If i took my alpines to an audio shop and had them set my gains how much wattage can i give them constantly without having problems? Can they handle more than 500 watts or should i follow these guidelines?

500w is RMS (continuos) so anywhere close to that is fine

~750 I ran my at 900 watts each for a while and blew 2 in a rather short period of time -- my gains were not professionally set however

Do a search and see what you can come up with, there is infinite information on powering Type-Rs on this board

I set mine with a dmm. Ran a Nine.1 on each of my two R's for over year. Still have em. Just over 1000 rms is what they were seeing.

750watts rms fed mine 1255 for about 5months and than 2000 for about 3months still goin strong.
