Ok guys, I bought this setup in febuary..

Im running

Premier 6900UB with an 80 GB Hard drive

Kicker K525's on all 4 corners of my Jeep Cherokee

Kicker ZX1000.1

Kicker CVX 15" I honestly forgot if its dual 4 or 2, i know im running 2ohms but I forgot which one is which lol.

Its in a Ported box thats 4 cubes at 32hz.. The thing just doesent hit lows really and it just doesent produce a lot of sounds that my other subs used to do.

I had a KX350.2 amp on 2 sealed kicker CVR's 12's...

I dont know if its becuase they were sealed and now im running a ported box that might just ****?

I got it on ebay for 160 or something like that, and its huge.

I want to save space and maybe just go sealed again? I honestly dont know but im getting really annoyed that the subs not hitting a lot of stuff, and it sucks *** with rock now also. Im big into metal, where as I dont listen to much rap.

Do you think I should just get something like this?

no no, have someone build you a box on here. Most likely the box is not tuned at 32 hz.

Actually, it might be tuned to 32 and that is the problem. There is alot less super low bass in rock/metal than there is in rap. You might want to tune higher... say in the 40-45 hz region for rock. Personally though, I would seal that sucker up and see what happens, you may be surprised. Build a quick 2 cube sealed box and toss that sucker in your car before you buy different subs/ whatever.

That seems to be right, you can HEAR the rocks bass but it doesent actually pound it like it would pound the rap's bass if that makes any sence?

I can hear the sub trying to make that sound loud but it just doesent.

Sealed is very good, at least for what I want. As you can see by my sig, I want big and accurate bass.... it works for me. Worst thing that will happen is youll be out 1 sheet of mdf and have a spare box laying around. build the sealed box dude!

well, a sealed application will require less space than a ported one, and you will have a more flat response all around.

Try sealed and see if you like it.

Will the notes its trying to hit that it wont, will those work?

Being a rock guy myself, I know where your coming from. Your bass will be overall much more accurate, and you will probably hear all those "missed" notes. However, your averall spl will go down quite a bit. For example, I can only hit 143 with my 2 18's sealed, but they are super accurate with any kind of music.

I would definitely consider it if I were you. You save a lot of room as sealed boxes usually run much smaller than ported, more room for screwups in the build process for newbs, and to me at least much better sq. Not everyone wants to hit 190gajillion db'z, just have some good, loud sounds!

Exactly I dont care about the SPL really, I mean honestly that thing CRANKS WAY beyond my needs...

I dont do competiton at all, I just want some bass to compliment my system.

That 15 sealed should easily keep up with the component setup that you have. Trying will not hurt at all.
