Kimbo Slice fight tonight

Tyson would not take Kimbo IMO unless tyson trained for a LONG *** TIME. Has anyone seen him lately? He is so out of shape it is not even funny. He would die after swinging a couple times. Every fight Kimbo is getting better ground control. Someone will beat him, but they will have to be able to take a punch, and HAVE GREAT submission record's. Its the only way I see it happening.

Tyson would only have that power punch going for him, But kimbo seems to be able to take a good hit. So it would be interesting.

lolers. kimbo is from perrine florida , and everyone around here seems to know him since he went to palmetto high school (iirc).

as much as this chick at work was talking about how kimbo is unstoppable , he has no technique. more of a street fighter than anything. im watching it now since i missed it last night. it was a decent fight. kimbo ****ed buddys ear up though. he is a serious heavy hitter.

meh.

why does everyone want him to be technical? he's a brawler. Nobody was asking Tank Abbott to ground and pound. Nor asking any of the gracies to slug it out. It's called using your strengths. His is that big *** right hand.
Show me a heavyweight that can slip Kimbo's right hand and take him down. Most heavyweights are not technically sound. And why was Tito talking shit about him? His ***** wife must not be doing it for him.........lol.
He'll always be a brawler, but he needs to have some amount of technical skills just to combat take-downs and submissions.

Did I anywhere in my post say that "I" would fight him????? I'm not a MMA fighter no more then he's a network engineer. Now back on topic.
He's being hailed as "THE" next big thing in MMA, yet he displays very little skill other then landing a big punch, has no ground game, and gasses very quickly. He actually reminds me of Tank Abbott when he was in his prime.

Even his supposed boxing skills are little more then the "bomb" he hopes to land. No combos, body shots, etc... I'm just not impressed at all by him. He's gone up against a few nothings and has not looked good even against them.

Those 2 on the ground last night looked like a couple of 5th grade boys fighting over a girl on the playground. Couldn't stick any submissions and just laid there panting like a dog.

I only criticize because he's SOOOOO over-hyped and just hasn't shown anything yet. With all that said I do give him props for figuring out how to get paid.

At this point I still say he has NO future in the UFC against any "real" fighters //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I agree with most everything you said except that I think Kimbo has more boxing skill than you give him credit for; while he's no boxing king, I've seen him put together some pretty decent combos before.

I think the entire event was an embarrassment for Elite Xc. The bs stoppage of the Smith and Lawler fight. And Kimbos cardio being exposed, falling over in the center of the cage after the ref stops the fight for a bloody ear. MMA doesn't belong on public television, for the simple fact that the basic bloodshed of it will attract the wrong attention. Leave it on cable and ppv, and enough with the bullshit stoppages for the T.V.

This is the reason that I wanted him to lose. Now everybody is going to say that he has a good ground game and came out on top.

If James would have won, that would have been the end of all this nonsense. I'm so tired of hearing how Kimbo is the ultimate and how now that he has training, he's unstoppable.

Kimbo is an absolute joke. He is a good street fighter and that's it. IMO, he is the exact same fighter he was 1 year ago, just lost some weight. His fighting style is EXACTLY the same and his ground game is terrible. I would love to see a mediocre heavyweight UFC or PRIDE fighter take him apart.

I've watched the footage over and over again. It was indeed a bad call. James looked dazed, but would have recovered like he did 5 times before that. Kimbo could throw all the punches he wanted but never knocked James down. I was truly impressed with how well he took Kimbo's punches.

Just seeing the fight over again and watching the ref call the fight gets me more and more pissed off every time, seeing Kimbo take credit for a ref's bad call. Such B.S.

Kimbo has talent, but he will be dominated by any of todays top heavyweights. The sad fact is Tim sylvia would wear him down and beat him. For him to struggle for a little more than 2 rounds with Thompson and not finish him is a clear indication he is all hype and will never be what he is being hyped to be. The fans of MMA are fickle to begin with, if he loses to someone of real substance he will be quickly forgotten about.

honestly i just watched that fight and i gotta say it was more entertaining than the UFC pay per view i watched a couple months ago......

im not really an MMA fan but i went over a guys house to watch ufc a couple months ago and it honestly disappointed me. it really looked like something i could see at a high school wrestling tournament. i think like 4 of the matches ended in 2 rounds due to tap out....id honestly enjoy watching two boxing heavyweights (if there were any good ones anymore) or the backyard fights on youtube with 2 guys slugging it out. watching two men roll around on the ground holding each other gets boring...

thats just my 2 cents. maybe i just saw a boring ufc or something.

A GREAT BOXER in their prime vs one of these guys?

I have seen a bunch of exboxers enter in to MMA but pretty much all of them failed at boxing and saw this as a way to make a buck. The results are mixed.

My question is who would win if a great boxer in their prime met a natual MMA guy? I don't think that has happend yet.

One arguement is that if the boxer was taken to the groud it would be all over. Another arguement is a boxer would never let that happen and they are so fast and punch so hard with extreme acuracy they would clearly win.

Think about when Mike Tyson "Jabbed" Mitch Blood Green while in NY with his bare hands. A trained boxer flew through a department store window, lights out.

Just wondering
