Kidney Stones

yeah i get them frequently and work in the medical field, hopefully they are small enough to pass on their own

feels like someone sticks a knife in u and twists and twists and twists until it passes, usually bad sign if symptoms include fever(usually means u obtained a secondary kidney infection from it so u will likely be getting a dose of levaquin (antibiotics)

very bad sign if u have gross hematuria(visible blood in the urine) usually microscopic hematuria occurs

it can be genetic or dietary there are different kinds of calculus that form

i higly recommend u filter them when u urinate and give them to a urologist to analyze what kind of stones they are

Do u take any supplements or have a deficency with absorbing calcium can be a cause as well good luck
I have had extremely dark bloody urine before, my urologist never said it was particularly bad, just a sign of a stone. I have had them analyzed, Calcium Oxalate stones. And as far as I know I have no problem with calcium. I do however drink a lot of pop, one of the worst things, especially colas.

if u get one look at it under a microscope serated edges very sharp, it usually only hurts when in the ureter worse part is transferring from the kidney into the ureter at that junction and the uv junction at the bladder wher the ureter is usually the smallest diameter worst pain i have felt in my life
Yup, exactly my experience, almost feels like an extremely hard kick to the balls that is constant for a day or so.

anytime u have gross hematuria it is a bad thing

i was reading that and was gonna say what the **** is pop but i seen cola lolz

sometimes if ur calcium intake is too high or if u dont absorb the calcium properly

i was told by my dr it can cause calcium stone formation (which i have as well) which is weird cause i dont have any calcium intake (not no wherew near what it should be

ok, back from the gym, Ill post my horror story now hehe

Woke up at 2:58am to go pee, stopped mid stream and thought... hmmm thats odd... Then it hit me like a shitton of needles. Dropped me to my knees in an instant. Crawled bcak to my bed, hopped in.. Wife asks if Im ok, sounds like I fell LOL. Told her I dont know what happened, but I am in some serious pain and have no clue what it is. Asks if I want to go to the Hospital, and without a second thought I said I think I better, and NOW! She got the kids up and in the car while I struggled to walk to the car.. Now, the time is 3:06am! So in 8 minutes, I go from a dead sleep, then on my way to hospital. Get to the hospital (after demanding the wife run a few red lights) and get to the counter to check myself in visibly in extreme pain. They get me a wheelchair to sit in and first question she asks is "Ever had a kidney stone?" .... Nope..... "Well you do now" So they take me to the back immediatly and check the vitals. BP is through the roof so they start moving a bit faster to get me relaxed. After digging around my right forearm for what seemed like an eternity (prolly only a couple minutes) and blowing out a vein, they stick my left hand and start pumping IV and a shot of that Dilauted stuff... WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW First words out of my mouth are wow, I can see why people get so adicted to this intreveineous drug stuff! Go through the X Ray and CT Scan of the lower body, all that good stuff. Wheel me back to the room, ask me how the pain is 1-10 and I say its a 2. Let me chill for an hour or two and **** down a couple IV bags. Then as they are getting ready to release me, I ask for another hit for the road LOL. Suprisingly they agree and shoot me up again and disconnect me shortly after with scrips for Vicoden, and FloMax (to ease the passing of that dirty SOB) Get home, stumble up to bed and sleep for the next 12 hours (5-6 is a normal night for me).

Cliffs:

Woke up, pee'd 1/2 way.. Dropped to knees... went to hospital and got some GREAT drugs.. Discovered Vicoden does nothing for me... Vowed to never do it again!

I was diagnosed with sponge kidney last year...I got like 24 kidney

stones and they hurt like a bicha....the lower back hurts and you

get sharp pains that collapse you to the floor with the big ones

not fun at all:(

had one about 2 months ago .. by far the worst pain i have ever experienced my mother said it was in fact worst than labor and she had me and my sister naturally ... went to the hospital they filled me up with dilated (SP?) and a nohter drug ( a muscle relaxer) mad e the pain ease... before i went to the hospital i literally passed out from the pain .. anyways they took a CT scan and it turned out it was a 4mm stone luckily it passed the next day but i never wish them on anybody and pray to GOD i never have another one .. !!
