Kicker ZX750.1 vs PG Xenon 600.1

Which amp would be the better choice to power 2 Kicker Solobaric SD12's (for a friend)? His MAX budget is $250 . I've heard both amps are way underrated and wanna the 'best' for the money. Thanks!

what are solobaric sd12's? l5 or l7? but either way neither, l5's are rated at 600wrms and the l7's are 750wrms i believe for 12"s. true the kicker is underrated, i've seen plenty of birthsheets saying 900-950wrms but the pg is actually rated, maybe put out just a little more like 700wrms at most.

Wrong!!! All 600.1s will atleast do 800 watts atleast. The old birthsheets may say otherwise, but they were messed up. If you have any questions reguarding that call pg. As for which amp is better well, different people are going to have their opinions, but build quality wise the pg is superior. Its more comparable to the kicker sx series, minus the onboard processing. Tripple darlington output stages, ect... Both amps are good though.

Yeah, he's got the old school round ones. Built in 1998 I believe. They are rated at 600 watts max. Any suggestions?

Wrong!!! All 600.1s will atleast do 800 watts atleast. The old birthsheets may say otherwise, but they were messed up. If you have any questions reguarding that call pg. actually i have spoken with pg about this several times and they said that's not true. from their techs they say everyone was going around saying the first batch of xenons were bad and had to be sent back for repairs and when they were repaired they were made to put out more power then before. the techs i spoke with said that while some maybe most will hang around the 700wrms range at 14.4v. just what they've told me.

abd korndawg, you need to post the rms and vc config. of the subs to get any help. max ratings are useless and don't mean anything.

I kind of Vote Xenon.

reasons:

More wiring options. 4-1 ohm stable,

Overbuilt internals

Underrated, more around 700-800 ish RMS

If all else equal, I'd say PG for wiring flexibility reasons. (BTW, they make greatest power at 2 0hm loads for Mono, 4 ohm load for multi)

i've used both in a side to side comparison, and the kicker appeared to put out more power... a noticeable difference, but again, i didn't have any testing equipment
