Kicker ZX2500.1

Well I just used the rockfordfosgate site to figure out what ohm load 3 ssa icon's will be pushing at and I was wondering if anyone knows if my Kicker ZX2500.1 will be able to push a 3 ohm load ?

I know their specs are 2 ohms. But what about 3 ohms? Will i need to buy another amp for 3 ohms?

Most likely. But then again, they do say it's only 2 ohm stable for a reason.

For electrical wise. Im running on kicker 0g wiring kit. Is that enough ?

If you don't even have a second battery in the back I wouldn't run the ZX2500.1 at all. I had mine with a stock starter under the hood, big 3 done, 1/0 wiring kit, and a Stinger SP1000 in the back. That was with the amp wired to 2.2 ohm. So you're gonna need a decent size battery, like a Deka intimidator or g34 optima in the back if you're gonna run the amp at 1.3 ohm.

I'll pick up the otima g34. Yellow top correct? I was going to put in a Kinetic battery for the engine bay. I've done the big 3 already and upgraded to 0g. Will the kicker be stable at 1.3 ohms ?

What do you mean its a toss up with my electrical? Regardless if it isn't safe. I'll just build a box for 2 icons instead of 3.

I've been running mine at 1 ohm for a year now. I think that the only time I've managed it to jump into protect was during a show when I had to burp with the car off. I had the volume too high so it actually my fault. If you have a nice electrical and are good with a volume knob then one ohm is fine.

can you? sure...but its not suggested. I have heard about 50% say yes and 50% say no. Kicker does not suggest it though.

yes yes and yes... I had mine @ 1.4 for about 7 monhs with no problem. You have to configure rise in this equation. Yea it was wired@ 1.4 but after rise it was seeing 2.1 and 2.8 when the coils are warm.

this is my amp that i sold him. i ran this amp at 1.4 DCR on a btl. it will do it all day long, so i dont think 1.3 will be a problem. this amp however, will not do .7 dcr (1 ohm nominal) without going into protect regardless of a good electrical system. some will, this one wont.
