Kicker ZX1500/2 15" L7's

ok guys i just sold my sx1250 today....i am about to order my zx1500...and my other 15...the subs are 2 ohm's....that will give me a 2 ohm load to the amp right? since the amp gives full power at 2 ohms instead of one....that was my first question...my second question is...i have stock electrical system...no big 3...and an ok duralast battery i bought last year...i need to know what i need to push this setup....it dont have to be to the absolute max...but i dont want nothing messing up either..like my vehicle...so i want to be able to listen to it without out it killing my electrical system....could i just buy a good optima battery and put under the hood and then do the big 3 on my stock alt? or do i need a new alternator...thanks for your help

Wht do u drive??....but IMO u should b fine using ur normal batt as a starting battery....then use the Optima to jus the amp nd do the Big 3...

Two subs that are dual 2 ohms = 2 ohm final load I believe. I would do the big 3, and if you have problems... you go from there.

okay thanks a lot guys...i drive a 95 s10 blazer (4 door) if that helps any....so you can do the big 3 on a stock alternator? and how would i hook up an optima battery to the amp?

You can do the big 3 on any car.

Run the batteries in parallel (Power wire from front battery => + battery to amp). Ground that battery to the frame or run a ground wire from that bat to the front bat. Connect the - from the rear battery to the amp. If you need any help with anything send me a pm.

Since you will have two dual 2 ohm subs you can wire them at either 0.5 ohm or 2 ohm.

To run it at 2 ohm you will to connect a positive to negative on each sub then run a positive and negative out of each sub. I would highly suggest doing the big 3 in 0 guage. I noticed you had to constantly keep your RPMs up to keep everything going with your sx1250, so you might need more than just the big 3 but I would definately start with the big 3 and see what it does.

oh thanks for the help guys...aaron yea man thanks....im doing the big 3 and getting a optima yellow top batter in the back to push my zx1500....should pound pretty good man when i get it going...i just ordered my zx1500 for 441.00 brand new...pretty dang good price...im about to order my new cd player....a 07 kenwood

might look into geting a bigger alt...my kx1200.1 burned the hell out of my old alt...didn't realize it till we took it apart after removing it. edit: to the original poster, i have a yellow top under the hood and a yellow top in the trunk, i've done the big 3, run 1/0 guauge kicker hyperflex, all on a 80 amp altenator with no problems.

what did you guys get your zx1500's for? thats the cheapest i could find one....i looked hard....i have the money though so i dont care...im sure its worth 440$....anyway you guys tell me about the amp....i had an sx1250...so i hope its better than that...
