Mines came with a birth sheet for ~900W @ 2 ohms.

Now I set get gains for 600W at 2 ohms (34.64V I believe) with a -3 dB 45Hz test tone and the gain is not even at the first mark yet. Is that right? If so, that means just because it's rated for ~900W, I can't assume it that halfway on the gains will result in ~450W right?

I have the Eclipse CD7000.

half gain is not 450 watts

Get a 50hz 0db tone and set it for about 900-950 watts

thats how I did mine
Is it safe to push 900-950W on the amp, even though the birthsheet only states 883W?

Also, the 15" IDQv2 is only rated for 400W if I can remember correctly.

ah I thought you mean ~900 as low 900's

eh in that case just set it at 900 @ 50hz 0db

If your head unit has a sub control ( +12/-12 db on the sub it self) then use that

When setting the gains have the sub out maxed out (12 of 12 or whatever the max is)

then back off a little

34.64v is right, just make shure you do this at 0db with the test tone.
I did use 34.64V, but with a -3dB test tone instead. I'm just wondering because I barely had the move the gains anywhere to get 600W out of an amp that does 900W.

that could be a good thing, that amp might be able to make even more power. what was the test voltage by kicker, 12 or 14v. which ever they used, try the same thing when you set yours. you also gatta figure that the higher the inut voltage the lower the gain is going to be also. i wouldnt sweat it, thoes amps make alot more power than they list at.
