hey guys I just purchased a 2012 model kicker ZX 2500 .1 my daughter peed in my backseat and it dripped onto my amp underneath the seat anyways the amp smoked, and I instantly pulled the power cord from it I took the lid off of the amp and 14 of the 3205 transistors lined against the heat sink burned ..the amp does not Power on and the protection light flashes for one second, and then it goes off. Everything looks fine other than the burned transistors.

do you guys think I could just order some new 3205 transistors and replace them all and hope for the best?

the transistors are only 95 cents apiece so for roughly 20 to 30 dollars I can replace most of them and hope that the app would work like new is this a wise decision?

to say the least unless u have experience removing the resistors u can damage the board not to mention if the resistors went bad i can gurantee u probaly blew some fets . i would get a repair quote

personally I'd go for it, but I've had my fair share of experience with electronics before so I know what I'm doing. Don't know how much experience you've had with this kind of stuff...

x2 i know for a fact also many companies will not touch the amp after someone else has fiddles with an amp because a ton of stuff can go wrong and they dont want the blame because the other components were compromised when you were fiddling and may go bad shortly there after.

Like mentioned above there is plenty of risk for other transistors being shorted and not burnt, resistors may be fuqd. You need to find someone who does amp repair and let them give it a once over. It is very likely there are other things wrong other than the burnt transistors.

You could go through it yourself, but if you're inexperienced in amp repair, I would let someone else do it, or you have a lot of reading to do before you attempt self repair.

you need to replace all of the MOSFETs that are in parallel, so in a mono amp that means all of them so they are equal. otherwise the repair won't last.

after that, you will find out if any of the other components have failed. good luck.
