Kicker zx 1000.1 x over freq??

Im running this zx 1000.1 and a kicker l7 15 it has gain bass boost and xover freq. bass boost is off, gain has been set via dmm and now this x over freq is confusing me. What is the basic range this should be kept at? Also the bass remote that is connectd by basically a telephone wire how do i use this properly? I am using a junk sony xplod deck. It has a subwoofer option 0-10 what does that do and what should i keep that at? I just got the build done and need some answers asap before i put the system to use. Thanks
