Your price has nothing to do with what ohm load the amp is designed to handle. I was just saying the board is well designed and built with quality parts. I had mine at 1 ohm daily and it never fried anything. Just the plastic around the + input started to melt.

if this were that kind of amp it would either be junk or cost more...

I just dont want someone to buy it then run it at 1 ohm and complain when something gets too hot...

If the amp is 100% efficient...which this series was infamous for not being. That being said, the 240 I had was absolutely mean! It would shut down after about 20 minutes of hard play at 2ohm mono...however I modified the bottom plate and had a 6inch fan pulling the heat directly off the board...ran my 12inch Audiomobile MASS at 2ohm with power to spare from then on...that sub is rated for 600rms. I did the same thing to a 120, added fan and ran it at 2ohms to an Audiomobile MASS 10 rated for 500rms. GREAT price for a classic power-house!

wow this amp is 100 percent efficient must be a deal only amp i have ever seen that is 60x14.4=864 give this class ab a repectable 60 percent efficienty 864x.60=518.4 watts at 14.4 volts

its a ballpark way to tell what an amp can do...I didnt say it was 100% efficient...

but I also stated at 10volts which is very low...so there is some room....its def not 60x2 for sure as you know

they did around 400rms in all actuality. As far as the 1 ohm thing. They WERE designed for 1 ohm/2ohm mono operation, however they made the same/less power as 4 ohm. A point has been missed. These amps sounded GREAT. Friend of mine had one on a Focal utopia set. We compared many amps in that car. That kicker was awesome. It is sad that you cant sell for 85 shipped when people blow a load for old PPI that IMO is no better.
