My vote goes to mtx. Have used and sold them for years. Very solid build. Can get very loud while staying clean. Did you have particular models from either company you were looking at?

I don't know about mtx.. but the L5 and L7 are some good woofers.

We installed one in a Yukon two Newer L5 powered by the MTX 1501d. It was crazy loud. It has some good spl~

Kickers are good...round the board....but to me Mtx's distort and dont have the lowest bass...especially in the lower end models

idk man my 5500 got pretty low but it did distort...

They both make great top end subs, but I think that MTX makes a better budget sub.

l5s are decent loud subs

L7s nice daily subs

I prefer the MTX's.
