Kicker ss vs. boston Pro's

Either way it would be powered with a Phoenix gold 200.4 and both are 6.5's The price diffrence between the two is that the kickers would be about $130 more. Which would you choose and why? Are the kickers really worth the extra bucks?

If you want SQ I'd go with the Boston's but if you want loud, Kickers FTW. For the price difference I'd pick the Boston's. My .02 worth.

not quite sure but i believe the boston's need a good amount of power to get them going. slain93gsr had the boston's pro and was feeding them 350-400 a side.

yes you are correct. i think that'll be sufficient power. thats lots of power actually 200 x 4 @ 4 ohms. i think should be plenty. i didn't know the specs of the PG. i dunno if you can, go out to a local shop and try to demo them since these are mainstream stuff.

I have the smaller of the two kickers. They are pretty nice, liked mine. The last set of BA pros I had were the first ones they came out with so I can't compare. At that end of the price range, I would want to demo them before dropping any cash.

Yes the pg is rated at 400*2 briged anywhere from 8-2 ohms.

The Bostons are 3 ohm as well, maybe thats what you meant? If not, they are both 3 ohm.

i will be running the ss652 off a kicker zx450.2 amp real soon. A friend of mine has the rs 652s and they sound absolutley amazing and hes running 100 watts to each of them. One cool part about the kickers is you can run the tweater as a seperate or you can screw it into the 6.5. Im not sure if the bostens can do that or not Ive heard good things about both bosten and the kicker so either way you should have a great sounding set of speakers.
