Kicker Reliability Issues?

So my birthdays almost a month away now ( november 20'th ) And i think ide treat myself to a new driver for my Bday, Im pretty set on getting a 06 15" L7 but i was reading some reviews on them and theyres more then one case were people have blown there speakers, they dont work good, etc etc... Are there any reliability issues with these drivers, seeing 4+ cases of reviews about people saying they blew them off of RMS or close to RMS power kind of scares me.

Basically my whole plan was to get a 15" 06 L7 and power it off a eD Nine.1 for 1200 watts ( is this too much power for it? ), and put it in a 4 cube NET box ported @ 35 hz ( i only have 4 cubes available as its a trunk vehicle )

would this work good and get loud?

How much are you spending?

There great for the price and sound great spl and can be really decent sql if you set it up right.

Warning: Your going to get this is a shitty sub from many members who havnt heard or played with them. I dont own one personally but my friend owns 2 12"s and i helped him hook it up and ride with him very often.

i've had mine for a good 8 months, since february when they first came out, offa 1200+ rms from a kx 1200.1 and still going strong. maybe these 'cases' you speak of were clipping the shit outta their amp, or some other unbenounced problem, but the reliability of both my kicker amp and sub have been up to/over par in my opinion

i am bangin' 3 of the 15's with 3 2500.1's right now.... i'd have to say they're pretty **** reliable!

The only thing im scared of is my box.. I can only do 4 cubes after displacement... Is this sufficient for a single 15" L7? i know everyones always like 6 cubes, etc etc.. i wanna get loud with the rest of them.. is 4 cubes good enough? and is a nine.1 too much for the kicker? 1200 @ 12 volts, etc?

the box size is fine and it will run great off the 9.1

your fine with 4cubes. Its when you go below that its gets a little tight but it will handle 1200 all day as long as its a good clean signal. I your really conerned about the space then get a 12in

The thing is, im not rich by any means.. and this is a HUGE purchase for me.. so i NEED something reliable, and thats going to work for the long term.. thats what scares me about these kickers is reliability issues, especially since im purchasing it off of Etronics which im pretty sure dosent come with a warranty.. if my sub randomely broke down one day and theres nothing i could do about it ide definately freak out... i want this to be a one time purchase and i need it to work for financial reasons.. thats what kinda makes me wanna get a 15" Type R instead cause you never hear anything about them realibility wise.. so it kinda scares me

Nope but theres so many e-hardasses that its unreal.

Dude just get a factory warrenty, it will hold up unless you do something wrong or its factory defective.

where are you buying it from? if your buying it from an authorized dealer with warrenty then you have nothing to worry about (for a time)

just dont abuse it and it will last as long as your car
