OK question # 1...I have 2 COMP vr subwoofers 2 ohm dual voice coil 400 RMS in a dual 12" enclosure

would these be the proper type of amps to looks for

1) 2-channel 400 RMS @ 2 ohms

2) Monoblock 800 RMS @ 4 ohms

ALSO when these subs were 400 RMS each, but when loaded into a box the guy told me they are now 300RMS each for a total of 600 RMS...why is that:S

i'd go with the mono amp. better efficiency and cleaner power.

as for the rms figure, there is a thing called imp rise, but i haven't heard that subs rms changes just cuz its thrown in a box..but you won't hear a difference between 200w anyways. just fyi.

Is each sub dual 2ohm? From what I am thinking (if they are) neither amp will work.

dual 2 ohms each. yes. so .5 or 2ohm load.

a mono block amp would be the way to go.

Because I have seen birthsheets on several we have sold lately....I would suggest a Kicker ZX750.1 amplifier. YOu can series your dual 2's up to 4 ohm each, then parallel the two down to reach a 2 ohm load which is the rated load for a Kicker ZX amp.

ps.....every birthsheet on these amps that I have seen has been 900+ watts. Two were 939 and 949 watts:naughty: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

seems like a good thing there, i have mine off a 2channel mtx amp(until payment gets here) and it's fine. no real reason for not using either
